Job description / Role
We currently seek a Senior – Civil/Structural Engineer (Temporary Works) to join our offices in Dubai, to lead the review of the contractors’ temporary works designs for compliance with relevant codes of practice for WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff project sites throughout the Middle East.
Main duties will be to;
- Check contractor designs, calculations and site implementation for compliance with relevant codes and standards related to;
- Temporary structures such as formwork, falsework, propping, temporary bridges, site hoarding, signage, etc. and;
- Equipment / plant foundations such as tower crane bases, supports, anchors, ties or bolts, crane and piling platforms, etc.
- Develop with the supervision teams procedures for temporary works design and site implementation checks and ensures contractors comply with the procedures.
- Provide guidance to contractors during design and implementation stages as required.
The purpose of the position is ensure WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff comply with local Authority and legal requirements related to construction safety and ensure safe working environment for construction workers and WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff employees.
The role reports to the Head of Building Structures Supervision and will also Support Resident Engineers, Site Structural Engineers and HSE officers with all temporary works related activities
Requirements
Interested applicants should hold a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, with approximately 10 to 15 years’ experience, be familiar with the design of temporary works and relevant codes of practice used in the region and be familiar with falsework/formwork systems like Peri, Doka, RMD, etc.
