Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The position concerns the preparation, production and implementation, for railway lines/ metro lines as well as major infrastructures such as airports, of systems assurance requirements and strategies, systems safety plans, RAMS plans, requirements management processes, hazard analysis plans and logs, failure management plans and safety cases, generally using the European Standard EN EN 50126, EN 50128 and EN 50129 methodology.

As projects are predominantly in the Middle East, the principal work location will be in Cairo, with some travel expected to the project sites, to clients’ headquarters as well as to other main design offices of the firm overseas.

The role will comprise preparing the different system assurance documentation for infrastructure projects (mainly railways), providing specialist advice to other teams who are working on projects requiring system assurance, and mentoring/ coaching team members into the system assurance environment and language.

The candidate is expected to have knowledge and experience in railways - operations, signalling and telecommunications, electrification, rolling stock, systems integration, etc.

Requirements

Suitable candidates are likely to have a bachelor of engineering - preferably in Computer, telecommunications, civil, mechanical or electrical engineering - with at least 10 years of relevant professional experience in systems assurance. Further qualifications in Systems Engineering or Systems Assurance would be very useful. International experience is required, with experience in the Middle East highly valued.

Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate well developed communication and management skills, good written technical English, proven interface/ stakeholders’ management skills, with a good sense of business priorities and the ability to relate to and motivate multi-disciplinary and multi-national teams.

The position is a permanent post with employment conditions that would be commensurate with the level of seniority and responsibility involved.
