Senior Architect Engineer

Job description / Role

The Senior Architect – oversees and plans all architectural aspects of construction projects. Provides overall guidance on objectives and concepts for construction projects; applying knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials: prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs and time.

Main responsibilities:
- Oversees and plans all architectural aspects of construction projects.
- Responsible for final specifications, approval of ordered materials, and overall guidance on objectives and concepts.
- Plans layout of project and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval
- Prepares scale drawings and contract documents for building subcontractors to integrate their elements in the master plans.
- Administers preparation of shop drawings and conduct periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans.
- May also prepare operating and maintenance manuals, studies, and reports.
- Directs activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents
- Choose suitable materials that comply with project specifications and prepare their submittals.
- Coordinates activities concerned with other trades and technical issues.
- Leads, directs and evaluates work of subordinate architects and technicians.
- Performs a variety of complex tasks.

Subordinates: Architect Engineers
Desired start date: 1 November 2015
Working Hours: Sun - Thurs 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Travel requirements: Occasional Travelling

Requirements

- BSc in Architect Engineering
- 15 years of experience working on commercial, industrial and residential buildings and projects.
- Proficiency in Auto-Cad / Primavera
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
- Leadership Skills
- Organization Skills
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
