Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Site Superintendent is the individual that is responsible for the expeditious completion of the physical site works in support and collaboration with Main Contractor and Consultancy site supervision / inspection teams. He or she reports to, and carries out the direction of the Project Manager responsible for the area and / or zone in which they operate.

The Site Superintendent must ensure that the combination of the Main Contractor and Consultancy teams are working towards a common goal as defined within the contract.

Responsibilities
- Generating, securing, or otherwise confirming all information needed to create, monitor, and modify the progress schedule on a continuing basis.
- Supporting the PM and Project Controls Manager in developing and monitoring the progress schedule(s).
- Monitor and develop with the Main Contractor the project logistics plan in line with the sequence of works on site. This includes and is not limited to security arrangements, signage, pedestrian movement, welfare facilities and all arrangements necessary for appropriate service to the construction effort.
- Monitor actual production versus planned production by all parties.
- Determine whether the Contractor and Sub Contractors are providing sufficient work force, hours of work and production rates to achieve the monthly performance commitments and baseline programme. In doing this attend the monthly targets presentation with the PD, PM and Contractors team.
- Monitor the performance of the Contractors purchasing, project engineering to ensure that all subcontracts, material purchases, submittals, deliveries, clarifications, inspections, material approvals and changes are processed in time to guarantee arrival on site by, or before, the programme dictates.
- Prepare a daily report, job diary and photographs to support the contemporaneous records being maintained by the consultancy team.
- The role will primarily be based on site with limited office time. There will be a weekly Site Supervisors Meeting chaired by the Deputy PD and PM’s where all progress, purchasing, logistic, quality and engineering issues can be elevated if they are not being resolved on site.
- Ensure that the site works are being conducted in line with the approved method statement and that international best practice for safety is being adopted at all times. Attend the weekly site safety walk and debrief with the PD and PM’s.
- In support of the Architect and Engineer of Record ensure that the works are being installed in line with the specifications and to acceptable quality standards.

Requirements

The successful candidate must be happy to work in Egypt and have previous experience of working in a similar role, You must have the appropriate skill sets to be able to deal with Consultancies and Contractors and be able to show a proven track record of working on large mixed use or retail construction projects.
