Job Title: Mechanical Project Engineer/Manager
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Location: Accra-Ghana

Job Summary:

To be responsible for the success of the company by managing & maintaining mechanical projects to be completed on time according to the schedule and within the budget; and by ensuring that all client’s requirements are met.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Manage the mechanical system project execution from initiation to closure
- Prepare the project plan, manpower and quantities
- Develop detailed petty cash budget
- Prepare shop drawings , material submittals and variation orders
- Prepare BOQs, selecting materials and suppliers based on a comparison of prices and coordinate with logistics for timely supply
- Develop methods statements and testing & commissioning procedures
- Develop a detailed cost estimation and project budget for all mechanical work of the project
- Prepare progress reports and initiate invoicing with accounting team
- Prepare site visit report
- Review mechanical designs during their development, monitor budgets and review valuations of alternate materials and systems
- Manage the project’s field staff, subcontractor performance and vendor compliance
- Supervise work progress, quality and safety on site to ensure accordance with the contract documents
- Program all mechanical systems
- Coordinate with other trades (Electrical, civil, architect, …)
- Review and provide input to the resolution of questions from contractors, (i.e., interpreting the meaning and intent of drawings and specs,) and submit RFIs
- Maintain strong relationship with clients, vendors, contractors and subcontractors
- Train the technician and site engineers on all systems

Requirements

Requirements:

- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable university
- 3 to 5 years of experience in executing mechanical systems installation for construction projects
- Solid knowledge of project management tools such as PrimaVera or MS project
- Good knowledge of drawing AutoCAD is a must, Visio knowledge would be a plus
- Knowledge of mechanical codes
- Excellent technical knowledge within mechanical engineering
- Good team-leading and management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and provide high quality services to clients

- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Organizational skills
