Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Company:
Our client is a Leading Islamic Bank in Bahrain. They have maintained their leading position in the Islamic banking sector through adopting innovative Islamic investment and financing products.
They are currently looking to recruit an AGM Credit & Risk Management to be based in Bahrain.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for formulating and recommending risk policies based on the vision of the Board of Directors and stated policies in this regard.
- Develops plans and recommends practices and policies managing and maintaining appropriate Credit Administration, measurement and Monitoring Process.
- Follow up the daily weekly and periodical monitoring of the credit risks generating exceptions and excess reports to the Credit and Investment Committee if situation is not regularized within a certain period of time.
- Prepare agenda and minutes to the Credit Committee with a list of all the existing exceptions, unauthorized and excess utilization, expired authorization, unpaid items, the exceptions will be kept for comparison. Committee will review these exceptions on regular basis.
- Ensure proper legal system is followed in collecting documentation concerning customer and corporate accounts. Annual review list must be subsequently modified to reflect this decision and immediate information must be forwarded to Credit Committee or Executive Committee as necessary.
- Prepares quarterly reports on the Flagged Loans and Doubtful Debt exposure detailing variation and evolution. The outcome of the Credit and Investment will be reported to the Executive Committee if deemed necessary.
- Circulate the exceptions reports to the Account Officers, for comments and necessary action and roll it over to the month-end for reconciliation with the monthly exception report.
- Monitors exception reports on periodical basis to ensure that facilities availed are within limits, ensure authority has duly approved excesses and irregularities are rectified without delay.
- Directs the preparation statistics, credit information, replace to enquiries other reports and returns as stipulated to regulatory agencies, CBB and Management.
- Monitors exception reports, obtain necessary explanation for overdue and advises the concerned to classify and take appropriate action.
- Conduct research into specific markets based on secondary sources of information and direct contacts.
- Identifies training and Development priorities of the department ensures staff are adequately skilled to meet the future requirements of their responsibilities.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experiences:
- Degree in Banking and Finance
- Post Graduate degree is preferable
- At least 15 years of experience in Risk Management and Credit Analysis.
- General Local Central Bank's rules and regulations.
- Ability to analyze and detect credit risk
- Have good knowledge of law, economy, accounting, and financial analysis.
- Know how to analyze the risk and recommend solutions.
- Be rigorous and precise on the bottom and the form of reports.
- Always have the sense of risk.
- CFA, plus advanced qualification on credit and risk analyses
