Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

1. Plan, organize and control marketing initiatives of Business Banking Department with a Goal to maximize the Banks market share, profitability and business volumes across range of Products & Services.
2. Sets Goals, objectives and measurement standards for each section of the Business Banking team and monitors & evaluates the performance of the personnel periodically. Ensure that department efforts are going in the right direction to meet the ultimate objectives of Good Customer Service and also the business goals. Review and re-orient the strategy if required, as per the changes in market scenario.
3. Development and preparation of marketing strategies for business growth in Business Banking portfolio (Advances, deposits and cross selling).
4. Assume accountability for the business targets set for the Business Banking department as per the annual business plan approved by the Board.
5. Reviews, monitors and vets high value credit proposals (as per approved authority matrix) before presentation to the Executive Committee/competent authority for approvals.
6. Formulate appropriate marketing strategies for Business banking department for the approval of the Management. Review strategies so as to be in sync with prevailing market conditions and regulatory guidelines etc.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge about the market and timely updating the management regarding various relevant business developments in the market.
8. Assist in formulating policies, procedures and systems for the department for the approval of the Management.
9. Continually review policies in light of the opportunities and recommends changes for the better delivery and in order to safeguard Banks interests.
10. Maintain a healthy and high quality asset portfolio for Business Banking Department.
11. Assess and recommend the system requirements for betterment of customer service and optimum utilization of staff & resources.
12. Allocate targets and business goals to Business Banking staff, lead and motivate the staff in reaching their goals and monitoring staff performance at regular intervals.
13. Management of staff in the department, development of second line of resources, recruitment of required staff in the department, taking care of training needs of the staff in consultation with training department. Rotation of portfolios / job roles of the staff so as to suit their qualification / experience to get best output from the staff.
14. Guides & supervise the team in Identification of assets likely to be impaired and take remedial measures to arrest the same.
15. Manage impaired assets by taking / recommending appropriate strategy for restructuring / recovery there by reducing the size of impaired assets.
16. Ensure all the Audit/Compliance related issues pertaining to the departments are attended to by the team as per timelines and improve the ratings of the department during such audits.
17. Ensuring submission of various regulatory (wherever applicable) and internal MIS reports / returns on time.
18. Develop and maintain excellent co ordinations with Government department / agencies, industry associations, social associations, high net worth individuals etc.
19. Ensure that regulatory guidelines (Both internal, external and compliance) are strictly followed. Responsible for timely compliance/implementation of various Audit & Controlling dept. observations & recommendations pertaining to department.
20. Responsible for accurate and up to date representation of the Business Banking Department both internally & externally.
21. Represents BankDhofar Business Banking in important meetings and handle delegated work in the absence of DGM-WSB, where and when applicable.

Requirements

- A candidate should be a Bachelor or Masters Degree in Business Administration / Banking / Accounting / Finance from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 7 - 10 years experience with at least 3 years of experience in Corporate Banking (can be either technical or business planning).

General Requirement /Skills / Competencies:
- Must be an Omani National.
- Thorough understanding of Bank's Policies & Procedures Marketing Strategies.
- Knowledge in Corporate banking and General knowledge of Banking products functionally and features.
- Should Possess knowledge of statistical tools (for data analysis)
- Should possess good level of communication skills (written and verbal) in Arabic and English language.
- Should possess problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Should possess good leadership and decision making skills.
- Sound knowledge on Commercial / Business awareness.
- Should be self-motivated, initiative, innovative and dynamic.
