Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

JOB PURPOSE
To direct marketing and product development / management activities to ensure CLIENT marketing aligns with its vision and strategic plan and its products and services are aligned to market needs, known, understood and desired in the marketplace

GENERIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
- CLIENT strategy Contribute to achieving CLIENTs vision through development of CLIENTs strategy and aligning divisional activities with strategy and business plans
- Corporate governance Ensure all divisional activities comply with corporate governance & regulatory/legal frameworks
- Risk management Identify, manage, mitigate and report on risk and potential risk in divisional activities
- People management/organizational development Develop, motivate and coach people in line with succession & career planning requirements and optimize organizational structures

Marketing
- Marketing strategy: Formulate the marketing strategy in line with CLIENTs business plan
- Branding: Ensure fully developed branding guidelines / alignment of all ABL / BTL collateral and compliance to branding standards across all facets of Bank
- Marketing Communication: Develop GB standards and ensure marketing communications execution aligns with GB requirements and have maximum impact
- Product and brand campaigns Drive marketing campaigns based on priorities, segmentation, segment potential, product features etc.
- Market segmentation Drive market segmentation through analysis and database management
- Marketing budget/VFM Drive preparation / manage marketing and advertising budget to ensure support of business objectives and VFM
- Marketing events Drive marketing events and promotions

3rd Parties:
Manage the selection of 3rd party partners (PR / Marketing agencies, infrastructure suppliers, research firms), development of SLAs, and ongoing relationships to gain value-add services / advice / products

Product
- Market & Product evaluation Evaluate new product opportunities, demand for potential products, customer insights, market and competitor activity
- Product development Develop and implement new products which reflect market opportunities and potential
- Product Review / Enhancement: Ensure ongoing cycle of review and enhancement to provide value proposition improvements to target segments and maximize profitability. Ensure ongoing review of product portfolio optimization
- Product pricing: Define pricing models, ensure products are competitively priced against competitor pricing and margin requirements
- Product marketing Drive development of marketing plans for new products and ensure plans reflect product features and are segment-targeted
- Product management Drive the review, development and enhancement of the product portfolio

Requirements

- Bachelors Degree in relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)
Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of marketing theory and practice.
- Knowledge of the banking sector and its marketing issues
- Product development / pricing models
- At least 12 years professional experience incl. extensive retail / commercial banking
- Experience in developing marketing strategies & plans
- Market segmentation
- Experience in managing agency relations and budgetary management
