Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client is a Leading Islamic Bank in Bahrain. They have maintained their leading position in the Islamic banking sector through adopting innovative Islamic investment and financing products.

They are currently looking to recruit an AGM Treasury & Investment to be based in Bahrain.

Requirements;

- Manage the creation of an appropriate vision and long term strategy for the Investment and Treasury Division to be agreed by the CEO and the Board. In collaboration with the respective Department Heads, develop and put in place strategic operating plans and budgets, so that they reflect the medium to long-term objectives and priorities of the Bank.

- Monitor operational, economic and social conditions relevant to the Bank's business and interests and recommend strategies and policy guidelines for the Investment and Treasury Division that address these environmental conditions.

- Demonstrate an effective and inspiring leadership to ensure that the division is highly effective and efficient to impact on the Bank's long term profitability.

- Ensure that the investment banking and treasury activities are developed in line with the overall vision of the bank and the philosophy of the Board of directors.

- Ensure that utilization and investment of the bank's funds are planed, directed, managed and controlled in the most optimal manner so as to maximize profit within the defined risk parameters.

- Ensure that investment scenarios, markets opportunities, portfolio balancing and investment projections, reviews and recommendations are based on thorough research and analysis of different sectors, industries and companies, both locally and internationally.

- Ensure that investment proposals are thoroughly reviewed and finalized prior to passing for management approval and undertake the investments upon approval as per policy guidelines.

- Set-up performance evaluation parameters and provide information and management reports to the CEO, Board of Directors and other appropriate executive committees so as to assess the performance of the overall investment and achievement of the medium - long term strategies of the Bank.

- Set goals, objectives and measurement standards for each department under control, monitor and evaluate the performance of the division on a periodical basis. Ensure that staff efforts are coordinated in meeting client / investors requirements. Revise strategies and plans on the basis of market conditions and performance of the division.

- Liaises and keep in contact with investment institutions, brokers, banks, financial institutions and regulatory authorities for the purpose of being aware of market updates and trends in the field of investment.

- In conjunction with the Human Resources Department, identify the training and developmental priorities of the division and ensure that staff are adequately skilled to meet the future requirements of the Bank.

Requirements

BSc in Banking and Finance or Business Administration from a reputable reorganized University. Master degree in Finance or any other relevant qualification is desirable. Formal qualification in Investment is an added advantage.

Professional experience in Banking, Accounting or Finance with 10 -15 years in corporate banking, including 5- 7 years experience in Investment banking functions with at least 3 years as Head of Investment in a Financial Islamic Institution.

Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to lead and inspire highly professional and interactive teams.

Highly resilient with abilities to work in a dynamic and rapidly changing working environment.

Highly confident and assertive in presenting findings, with strong negotiation and presentation skills.

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

Professional certification in Finance/Accounting.

Foreign Exchange and money market dealing certificates.
