The Role


The Role


You will provide advice, guidance and best practice awareness and training to in country Consumer Banking (CB) internal stakeholders on:

- CB CDD policy, procedures and standards
- Group CDD policy, procedures and standards
- Local CDD policy, regulatory standards and regulatory change impacting CB and Group policies
- Standard and enhanced customer due diligence requirements
- PEPs
-At customer acceptance/on boarding and at periodic account review

The role supports the CB Head of Compliance to deliver overall, appropriate CDD Management and maintenance of standards in the Group Financial Crime Risk (FCR) Framework. Specifically, you will:

-advise on CB CDD policy and procedures and applicable local laws and regulations
-advise on and escalate higher risk relationships and reputation risks arising from CDD
-test compliance with and assurance of policy and standards in country relating to CDD

You must actively contribute to:

-assessing CDD risks arising from specific clients and advise the business on management and mitigation of those risks in the best interests of CB, the Bank and being Here For Good
-a collaborative working relationship with CB and country compliance teams and the country Head of FCR to ensure that local CDD procedures remain up-to-date and in compliance with local laws and regulations in country;
-the training of teams in the CB business that are responsible for CDD in the first line of defence and establishing a feedback loop to support continuous improvement and awareness;
-ongoing testing of compliance with the CB CDD procedures and applicable local laws and regulations
-Investigation on Sanction cases, as requested by Group or CMLPO & escaltion/approvals on sanctions risk from Group Sanctions Advisor
-Supports efforts to position the Bank as an industry leader in the eyes of the relevant regulators and industry stakeholders as Here For Good
-Offers subject matter expertise, drawing on all FCR networks, professional qualifications and experience.
-Ensures effective escalation within the Bank to the right stakeholders.

Requirements


Requirements


You will have strong experience in AML and CDD gained in a UAE onshore bank, leading regulator or a professional services firm. Your experience should include solid work in the financial crime compliance space and you will have worked on investigations, surveillance, sanctions, AML Advisory and CDD advisory ideally in an international bank. You will be a minimum of a bachelors graduate (preferably in law or compliance) and it is advantageous if you hold an MBA and/or CAMS qualification.
