Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Summary:

•Process vendors’ invoices for payment, confirm entries, payment amounts and account numbers, calculate extensions and discounts and post account numbers for issuance of payment.
•Liaise with internal departments to obtain supporting documents for processing payments to vendors and service providers.
•Check invoices, orders and offers signed by authorized personnel to ensure compliance with the company payment, purchasing and budget spending policy.
•Verify calculations and input computer codes by matching accounts payable open items report to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
•Resolve outstanding invoice issues and reconcile vendor statements, and follow up on payment status.
•Check ledgers, statements and accounts to identify errors and take any necessary corrective action, referring more complex items to the supervisor.
•Participate in disbursement scheduling in coordination with treasurer.
•Obtain and verify appropriate approvals, and genErate recurring invoices.
•Assist in establishing and maintaining accounting standards and procedures.
•Monitor pending approvals, and aging invoices.
•Post, compute, compare and balance financial, accounting, and statistical information.
•Maintain a database of compliant invoices and follow up non-compliant invoices.
•This covers the key responsibilities to be performed, but is not all inclusive. It does not preclude other responsibilities from being assigned and undertaken.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

•Normally a Bachelor degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting
•Accounting Certification (CPA, CFA, ACCA) is preferred

Experience:
Five years of relevant work experience in Accounts Payable.

KPAs:
•Compliance with International Accounting Standards
•Timeliness and accuracy of accounting reports generated
•Number of invoices processed in a day
•Instances of non-compliant reports in audits
•Speed and accuracy of response to queries and issues internally and externally
•Internal customer service satisfaction

Skills:
•Knowledge of International Accounting Standards, Regulations and Principles
•Attention to Detail
•Time Management Skills
•Computer literacy: MS windows applications (Word processing, Excel, Apreadsheets…)
•Fluent in English, Arabic is preferred
