AV Project Engineer

Job description / Role

1) Support the Deputy Project Managers in the implementation of AV System designs to meet the requirement of the project specification and in accordance with the contract.
2) Ensure full implementation of the Inspection & Test Plan and Audit procedure throughout all sectional phases of the project.
3) Be the technical, commercial and practical interface throughout the project cycle.
4) Oversee subcontract/contract and supplier design submissions to ensure full compliance with the contract specification and requirements.
5) Support the project team in achieving compliance with the Clients specification and meeting the operational and business objectives of the project.
6) Ensure in conjunction with the planner that the programme is achievable and highlight critical path and key milestones.
7) Put into practice the designed system architecture to the schematics/schedules.
8) Follow and implement the technical brief and requirement for each discipline for procurement and contractual agreement with suppliers and subcontractors.
9) Provide technical input to ensure all systems interconnect and interface correctly
10) Be the main support to the Deputy Project Manager through the implementation phase of the project.
11) Implement tools and procedures that ensure compliance with detailed document control processes.
12) Identify and manage change.
13) In conjunction with the Deputy Project Manager, take the implementation role throughout the construction phase working with both internal and external teams to produce a fully integrated and coordinated completed system.
14) Be involved with progress meetings both internally and externally taking responsibility to document and record output and actions.
15) Take a coordination role in the construction progress meetings with Consultants/Contractors and produce actions and minutes for issue to all parties.
16) Engage with Potential Subcontractors , obtain at least three Quotations.
17) Monitor the performance of Subcontractors and suppliers.
18) Manage the implementation of H&S requirements in accordance with current legislation and the procedures specified within the contract.
19) Be fully engaged with the Commissioning/Handover process and documentation
thereof.
20) Carry out weekly toolbox talks on a subject chosen by the Project Manager.

Other:

* Project Close out, Documentation, Snagging, Acceptance. Preparations of technical specs for sub contract tenders Assist in preparation the technical submissions; ensure that the shop drawings are controlled and latest revision.
* Ensure that the technical design documents are fully understood by the delivery teams and that the design change and revision management process is rigidly adhered to.
* Ensure that the For Construction Packs" are fully checked against the Contractors packs on site prior to the commencement of any construction works.
* Ensure that all design changes are fully incorporated into the latest for construction/registers.
* Ensure that the client O&M manuals are up to date and correct prior to submittal to client.
