Job description / Role
An international bank is seeking an Assistant Vice President Market Risk Manager to join their offices in Bahrain. The bank is looking for an experienced professional to help lead their Market Risk Management team. The scope of the role involves risk analysis of treasury products and investment pitches, ALCO related issues, market risk policies and daily reporting. Duties include and are not limited to:
- Reviewing and presenting feedback to Treasury on new products prior to submission to the New Products Committee (NPC).
- Reviewing any ad-hoc investments/trading proposals from Global Treasury (outside of annually approved limits), performing holistic risk analysis and submitting to ALCO/BRC with T & FMR’s recommendations.
- Preparing reports (investment portfolios and other ad-hoc reports) upon request.
- Assisting Head of Department in management matter relating to ALCO – preparing meeting minutes, compiling and circulating ALCO reports, assisting structuring ALCO meeting agendas.
- Effectual in the market risk engine (QRM) and working closely with the Head of Quantitative Analytics on modifications/ updates to the system and maintenance of QRM toolkit.
Requirements
The ideal candidate must have an undergraduate specialising in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Engineering. In addition, over 7 years’ experience in market risk management and sound knowledge of:-
- Financial instruments and risk measurement methods and models.
- Statistics and simulation methods.
- Credit Risk quantitative methods.
- Market and Liquidity risk measurement.
