Salary: AED 30,000 33,000

A large leading luxury retail group based in the UAE are currently looking to appoint an Account Manager to develop and implement Public Relations strategies and actions in line with the brands positioning, to maximise brands exposure, contribute to building the brand identity, and enable furtherance of its marketing objectives.

The successful candidate will:
- Create and implement an annual PR plan for key brands / clusters, in line with the marketing calendar and positioning objectives of the brand. Evaluate the effectiveness of the campaigns, and update the business managers and marketing operations on the impact, success and outcome.
- Provide input on the functions budget requirements to the Line Manager, and optimize utilization of the budget to accomplish set objectives.
- Ensure compliance with overall Public Relations policies and procedures.
- Use print, radio, television and online medium, as appropriate, to build, maintain and manage the brand image in the desired markets.
- Write major press releases and review all prepared by subordinate. Draft speeches for the GM representing the brand and prepare spokesperson for media interaction, with anticipated Q&A. Also responsible for drafting press statements / quotes on brands within portfolio.
- Finalise newsworthy opportunities for positive media coverage on the brand.
- Handle communications aspect in a possible crisis situation for the respective accounts, in alignment with Corporate PR.
- Monitor records of all material on the brand ranging from media lists to contacts of principals to backgrounder on the brand, to ensure that they are up to date.
- Draft updates on respective portfolio of brands on the Group website. Review drafts for Intranet posting and internal archiving.
- Develop monthly Social Media content matrix and review message ahead of post.
- Monitor all outgoing brand-related communication to ensure compliance with brand guidelines and draft major press releases.
- Act as a common interface for the media, principals and suppliers in communicating the brand image as per the communication standards and brand objective.
- Regularly review the pick up of the press releases across leading titles to ensure healthy rate of news pick up.
- Stay abreast of trends and developments (local and international) across categories and competitor activities.
- Regular interaction with Operations, Store Managers and Marketing Operations for a current assessment of the business, stock holding, delivery schedule of new collections, customer and media profile.
- Organise and attend media briefing / press conference; special events related to the brand or industry.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key editors and stylists.
- Develop concepts for Press Events and upon approval, oversee and manage execution.
- Support marketing operations in identifying effective brand associations through sponsorships and leveraging the participation to maximise PR coverage.
- Negotiation of media promotions leveraging opportunity appropriately.
- Verify reports prepared by subordinates, as per agreed timelines for each brand, in order to assess the quality and effectiveness of PR efforts for the respective brands. Present PR evaluation reports with recommendations to enhance the brands image.
- Monitor billing on the brands to ensure always up to date, accurate and in compliance of company process.
- Establish and develop effective work processes to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Manage and oversee Social Media local presence for brand.
- Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles.

Requirements

- Graduate, preferably in the field of Business Administration or Mass Communication / Journalism.
- 6 to 8 years experience, with at least 3 years in a Managerial position.
- Thorough knowledge of the tools of PR as well as industry norms.
- Proven ability handling media relations.
- Proficient in English language, Arabic would be an advantage.
- Good communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills. Good writing skills, both creative and business.
- Should have good organizational and planning abilities including the ability to deal with / work under pressure and tight deadlines.
