Hudson is pleased to be representing one of the world’s largest oil and gas companies in their search for an Accountant within the Consolidation and Reporting Team. Based in the Middle East, this position manages, projects and analyzes group consolidated financial statements of the company, its subsidiaries and joint ventures. Some key accountabilities include:

• Manages, projects, adopts and analyzes, consolidated financial statements in accordance with requirements authorities and accounting policies.
• Reviews and critically analyzes financial statements and annual reports of the company and 60+ subsidiaries, joint ventures, associates and any other related parties
• Coordinates and finalizes with External Auditors
• Reviews the contents included in the Board of Directors report on a regular basis to ensure all relevant information is presented to the Board of Directors..
• Review accounting matters and the legal structure of new group companies to be incorporated outside Qatar in co-ordination to ensure all accounting considerations are done to comply with approved accounting policies and international accounting standards (IFRSs), review of accounting matters will also include analyzing product cost allocation studies, review of accounting procedures adopted by the group companies and review of annual budgets.
• Participates in project negotiation meetings
• Facilitates as focal point of Accounting Group with regards to Financial Statement
• Reporting interfacing with other Departments in the Finance Directorate, other Departments and Directorates as well as office of BOD.
• Participates and provides information in preparation of Qatar Petroleum annual report.

This position interfaces with some of the highest levels of the finance department and takes independent authority over decision making relating to appropriate accounting treatment of all transactions. The successful candidate therefore will possess excellent communication skills with sound accounting and financial acumen.

Requirements

Successful candidates must possess considerable experience within a similar role and hold one of the following: Masters in Finance/ Commerce / Business / Accounting and / or CPA / CA / CIMA etc. Individuals must be willing to live in the Middle East and on offer is a full expatriate package including a tax-free basic salary plus housing, transport allowance, school fees paid and annual flights home.
