Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Plans, coordinates, and promotes BBIH - wide fixed asset physical inventory process.
• Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed assets.
• Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets.
• Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system.
• Coordinates, updates, and maintains the tracking database for new and existing capital and non-capital fixed assets including asset identification tagging, location identification, physical count, and departmental equipment custodians.
• Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.
• Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.
• Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets.
• Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
• Investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets.
• Conducts periodical and annual fixed assets physical inventories, and coordinates BBIH assets physical inventories with Line Managers.
• Coordinates transfer of equipment with Facilities and Operations, and updates the assets module with each transfer.
• Reconciles fixed assets module with related fixed assets general ledger, and coordinates any variances with relevant fixed assets accounting staff.
• Provides assistance with the implementation of processes in relation to fixed assets safeguarding.
• Assists with the development of written processes and procedures for identifying, tracking, transferring, reporting, and as requested, disposing of fixed assets
• Identifies existing assets without identification tagging numbers, assigns new identification numbers, and posts the newly identifiable assets to the asset module.
• Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management.
• Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
• Supplies information for inventory reports as well as other assets reports and records.
• Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the budget and management authorizations.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience / or Appropriate Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
• Experience: At least 2 years previous inventory control or fixed assets work experience in U.A.E.
• Language / Numeric Ability – Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Inventory software; Internet software; spreadsheets and Database software.
• Reasoning Ability – Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
