Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

1. Role Objective
- Manage all aspects of the accounts payable process in accordance with company policies for accurate general ledger expense account posting and maintain vendor relationships.
2. Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:
Know-How (for all levels)
- Sound knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, IFRs and payment principles.
Problem Solving (If any)
- Analyze commitments, obligations and manage vendor requirements or to provide advice.
Accountability
- Responsible for accurate and timely processing of payments after verification of invoices/POs/supporting documents to ensure that all the information appearing on them is accurate and valid.
- Responsible for code invoices for accurate general ledger payable expense account posting, enter invoices into payable ledger, process payments and mail cheques.
- Review transactions monthly, quarterly and annually to ensure correct accounting and running reports from online expense reporting module, prepare monthly journal entries and prepare adjusting entries as needed.
- Provide first line support for user queries relating to the payments and resolve all vendor disputes, and reconcile vendor accounts.
- Proactively maintain and follow-up on open purchase orders.
General
- May require extra hours during close, audit, and/or budgeting periods.

Requirements

1. Educational Qualifications:
• Possession of degree in accounting or finance or related field from an accredited college or university.
2. Experience:
• Three to five years’ accounts payable experience in similar position with working knowledge of accounting software systems.
• Experience in working in a pressure environment and in meeting tight deadlines.

• Ability to maintain confidential information.

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
