Hudson is pleased to be representing one of the world’s largest oil and gas companies in their search for an Accountant within the Sales and Receivables Team. Based in the Middle East this position manages two direct reports and takes responsibility for ensuring the organisation’s local sales are recorded and accounted for correctly and that relevant financial controls are planned for and implemented. Some key accountabilities include:
• Reviews & verifies accounting of local sales invoicing, collections and receivables
• Critically reviews agreements & amendments in the sales agreement in order to ensure the terms are in line with policies & procedures.
• Develops, documents and communicates internal control processes including creation of business rules and Sales & Receivables procedures.
• Analyses Import of products meant for resale account
• Participates and provides financial inputs in meeting with Marketing, Refinery, Ports
• Ventures Directorate & other related Departments on transactions involving Sales and Receivables
• Liaises with auditors (State/External/Internal) and ensure that observations are clarified and agreed recommendations are implemented on a timely basis.
The successful candidate needs to apply critical thinking and skillful analysis in providing solutions to disputes, to improve existing processes and controls etc, whilst ensuring the most appropriate accounting treatments are applied. You therefore need to be forward thinking and detail orientated with the ability to work accurately in an environment with high volumes of data. The successful candidate therefore will possess excellent communication skills with sound accounting and financial acumen.
Requirements
Candidates must possess considerable experience within a similar role and hold one of the following to be considered Masters in Finance / Commerce / Business / Accounting and / or CPA / CA / CIMA etc. Individuals must be willing to live in the Middle East and on offer is a full expatriate package including a tax-free basic salary plus housing, transport allowance, school fees paid and annual flights home.
