Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client (an events company based in Abu Dhabi) are looking for a UAE national to join the finance team

The role:
- Purchase Orders, email correspondences and authorizations by the Project Managers prior to processing on the account payables system
- Coding and Posting the invoices to the appropriate General Ledger account with proper account distribution based on company's Chart of Accounts
- Performing various other duties required in Finance Department such as event reconciling on Ticket Sales / F&B / Merchandise on and off sit
- Prepare monthly and annual profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet statements for financial management reports and monthly closing and cost accounting reports
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness
- Generating Purchase Order requests based on approved Purchase Requisitions
- Monitoring and reviewing Purchase orders and related system reports for accuracy and completeness
- Assisting users to add / update item codes and link them with the correct General Ledger
- Providing Oracle orientation for new staff
- Tracking Capital Expenditure and Corporate Budget spends
- Handling the reconciliation of Petty Cash Reimbursements on Events and ensure accurate documentation and timely submission
- Assisting with the month-end closing and preparation of Financial Statements
- Assisting with the preparation and coordination of internal and external audit process
- Verifying that all invoices received from suppliers are supported by duly approved Purchase Orders, email correspondences and authorizations by the Project Managers prior to processing on the Account Payables system

Requirements

- Bachelor's in Accountancy
- 3- 5 years experience in accounting preferable in UAE
- Excellent communicator, able to deal effectively with key stakeholders including Board Members and senior management team
- Ability to manage budgets and solid understanding of the accounting process with excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles as defined by IFRS.
- Knowledge of Abu Dhabi government operations and practices related to finance, accounting and budgeting
- Knowledge of laws, practices, and regulations applicable to Abu Dhabi government finances
- Knowledge and ability to identify optimum investment options and banking activities
- Skilled in coordinating flow of finance information and communication between staff, consultants, senior management and Board, with the ability to effectively manage time and work to meet deadlines
- Strong oral and written communication skills - including the ability to draft
