Accountant

Job description / Role

Our client, a growing Aviation Investment company, is looking a young and professional accountant to join their team here in Dubai.

Reporting to the Executive VP the successful candidate will manage all accounting functions for the company.

Job responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
Summarizes financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
Produces payroll by initiating computer processing; printing checks, verifying finished product. Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors.
Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
Secures financial information by completing database backups.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Supporting staff with team sheets and presentations.
General administrate duties.

Requirements

Applicants must poses the following skills and qualifications:

Knowledge and skills

Financial modeling
Transactions
Fund raising whilst liaising with the banks
Excellent communication skills
Fluent in English
Finance and accounting qualification/degree or equivalent
CPA, CFA, CA, ACCA qualified
Minimum of 3 years’ experience
Arabic speaker preferred
Some experience with aviation or investment industries preferred
