Accountant

Job description / Role

GulfTalent is one of the largest online job portals serving the Middle East region, with offices in Dubai and London. Founded in 2005, it is now used by over 4 million individuals and 6,000 companies. We are looking for a smart Accountant to join our team in Dubai.

The main responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying and consolidating transactions
- Reconciliation of general ledger accounts, including preparation of the monthly bank reconciliation reports
- Liaise with service providers to manage invoice approval and processing
- Responsibility for month end closing
- Fixed assets management
- Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts, including budgeting and forecasting KPI's
- Assisting with the audit process and in the preparation of statutory accounts
- Preparing all VAT returns
- Other accounting/finance support as needed

Compensation will be between AED10,000 - AED13,000 depending on experience, plus annual profit share and health insurance.

Requirements

- Part-qualified ACCA/CPA/CIMA or equivalent
- A background in accounting or experience within an accounts team
- Month end exposure and experience of balance sheet reconciliations
- Ability to use MS Excel to a high degree of expertise
- Excellent command of English
- Peachtree systems experience desirable but not essential
- Experience of handling confidential information
