Employment: Full Time

The role of the Accountant is to ensure the smooth operation of the companys accounting systems, the processing of invoices and payments, working alongside and in support of the Director and external Accountant team.

The Accountant is required to maintain strong and up to date financial records for this fast-paced business and prepare reports and financial information in a clear and consistent manner.

The Accountant is a public-facing member of the team, acting as the point of contact for accounts and payment related enquiries with clients, suppliers, staff and artists. The candidate is required to maintain these strong and professional relationships.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- The role of the Accountant is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the companys accounting systems
- Processing of invoices, chasing of payments, monthly salary processing for employees, twice-monthly processing of payments to artists against reconciled attendance sheets provided by the Booking Team, control of credit card payments, and the control of petty cash
- Maintain strong and up to date financial records and prepares clear and accurate reports and forecasting to support the work of the external Accountant team and also for the Director and heads of department to support their own areas of activity
- Have tight control over all accounting issues and procedures, awareness of the status of all outstanding payments both to and from the company. Take the lead in securing the payment of outstanding invoices to reduce the debtors list
- Actively participates in all accounts related discussions and issues across the teams.
- Be the main point of contact for all finance related enquiries from clients, suppliers, staff and artists and as such is required to provide clear, accurate and helpful assistance, responding to all enquiries, both internal and external in a timely manner
- Work alongside the Booking team and other team members as required, to provide consistent and accurate financial procedures for the company. This will also extend to training team members in financial procedures and in using Gig Guide to ensure the same protocols are implemented and adhered to
- There will be a structure of meetings: monthly with the Booking team to ensure the completion of details required for month-end payments; there will also be weekly and daily meetings with the Director and Heads of Department as required to support their own areas of activity
- Provide clear instructions for the company driver, to coordinate the timely collection and delivery of cheques and the completion of banking activity
- Continually be appraising the financial systems and procedures of the company, to identify and propose improvements and efficiencies and then to pro actively support the implementation of changes

Requirements

- Self-motivated with a high level of organization, time management and attention to detail is essential
- Aptitude to problem-solve and respond to changing situations in this fast paced industry
- Personable with strong communication skills including excellent written and spoken English
- Natural flair for building relationships with people on every level
- Willing attitude and a good sense of humour
- Experience or an interest in events, music or the performing arts would be an asset
- Mac literate and fluent in using Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- A minimum of 5 years Accounting experience
- Driving license and own transport would be an advantage
