Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our Client, a Luxury Furniture Company is looking to hire an Accountant to manage and execute timely and reliable assets and liabilities bookings as per required standards, as well as ensure optimal cost control and cost breakdown analysis, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Reporting to Finance & Administration Manager.

The main responsibilities and accountabilities are:

Accounting:
- Records all accounting entries on a daily and monthly basis, including operating expenses, cash and banks, , and control the sub-ledgers.
- Ensure follow up of account receivables and provide instructions to the logistics team for the delivery of goods.
- Ensure the follow up and control of account payables and compliance with the suppliers terms of payment. Ensure compliance between the order confirmation and suppliers invoicing.
- Make sure the ledger reconciliation is carried out on monthly basis, bank accounts are reconciled, fixed assets and inventory of the company are handled and depreciated properly, and that Profit and Loss account and Balance Sheet are in line with corporate accounting standards in order to have accurate financial records.
- Coordinate with external auditors to ensure issuance of external audit reports in reliable and timely manner
- Maintains information about the monthly prepaid expenses and accrual expenses on monthly basis in order to support the projection of future revenues and expenses.
- Ensure salary payment for all employees with the company online system, in a timely and precise manner.

Policies and procedures:
- Strictly abides by existing processes, policies and procedures and immediately highlights any discrepancy or suspicion in transactions to his direct supervisor for necessary action, to ensure efficiency and error-free outcome.
- Make recommendations about procedures and policy changes.

Data collection and Reporting:
- Accurately and regularly stores and maintains updated information to be reported.
- Prepares financial and operational expenses reports in order to ensure the availability of updated relevant information.
- Under the supervision of the Finance & Administration Manager, prepares the cost and budgeting reports, handles the cost analysis, monthly rolling forecast, deviation of cost to ensure the cost accuracy and budgeting process and assists internal and external auditors in order to inform the top management for proper decision making.

Requirements

- Education: Bachelor degree in accounting, and ideally in controlling
- Proven experience, minimum 5 years, in accounting in the goods industry/ service sectors, with a solid knowledge of accounting and budgeting, and sound understanding of cost breakdown and analysis in a similar business environment, including experience with international suppliers
- Entrepreneurial (start-up) mindset with initiative and solution orientation, capable to operate proactively under high pressure in a fast moving environment
- Analytical skills and sense of rigor and detail, while keeping the big picture
- Team player while remaining autonomous, with the ability to interact easily with other parties
- Sense of responsibility and accountability, loyalty and business ethics
- At ease with IT applications such as Office as well as finance and accounting software programs
