Accounting Manager - Trading

Reports to and assists the Project Manager for delivery of a project to contract requirements.
Salary up to 15,000 AED

Our client is a well-known company with 25 years experience in the chemical industry and are proud hold solid reputation within the market for being a strong competitor as well as an employer of choice. Due to their expanding portfolio of clients we are now seeking an experienced Accounting Manager.

Reporting to Finance Manager and directly managing four staff, you will be responsible for analysing all accounting processes in the company and creating efficiency to minimize double handling and costs in the department.

The successful applicant should have strong management experience and ideally be CA qualified and possess excellent communication skills as well as be versed with all accounts terms, banking functions and ideally have exposure to Focus software.

Responsibilities:
- Be able to review process and implement efficient change
- Staff Management, performance management
- Create training on the job and also workshops for the implementation of processes and systems
- Fully understands all accounting related duties including: Dealing with multiple currency's across multiple banks, LC, Banking Negotiations, Payroll, AP and AR processing, Risk Management,Credit Control, Cash flow management, Timely closing of the accounts.
- Support the Project Manager in delivering a project on a major Programme of Highways and Infrastructure development works.
- Assists in the management of the construction supervisor to facilitate delivery of construction, coordinating logistics, permitting, commissioning and handover activities to contract technical, budget, schedule and quality requirements.
- Interface with , Construction Supervisor and the Controls and Commercial Teams to ensure coordination and reporting is of a level that assists in the timely delivery of contract deliverables.
- Monitor works to confirm they are being carried out in accordance with the operations strategy, standards, policies, procedures and best practices.
- Liaise with the Engineering Team to assist in the execution of design solutions that promote constructability and value engineering.
- Monitor and report on the performance of the construction supervisors and the contractors.
- Ensure best safety practices employed during construction.
- Obtain the required support to assist in the timely payment of invoices and resolution of variations and claims.

Requirements

- Ideally come from a trading company background
- UAE Experience Preferred
- CPA or equivalent
- People Management Experience
- Attention to detail
- Process Management
- Experience with Focus Accounting Software or Similar
