The Role


The Role


- Develop and implement the accounting work plan; manage the Accounting department responsible for payroll, accounts payables, accounts receivable and general ledger while ensuring adherence of accounting procedures with corporate policies and generally acc.
- Negotiate and administer insurance contracts to ensure all risks are covered in an appropriate and effective manner.
- Prepare and manage annual department budgets to ensure effective cost management.
- Manage the payroll function ensuring all systems and controls are in place to facilitate the effective payment, monitoring, updating and cost recording of payroll within the organization for all departments.
- Coordinate with the Sales department in issuing bills and invoices to clients in a timely and accurate manner.
- Plan, direct and supervise the activities of assigned personnel in the Accounting department, setting overall policies, goals and objectives in addition to establishing corresponding work programs.
- Establish and implement effective accounting policies that adhere to corporate policies and generally accepted accounting practices and meet statutory requirements.
- Manage the general ledger function ensuring the recording of all necessary accounting entries. Ensure the reconciliation of all subsidiary ledgers with the control accounts in the general ledger.
- Manage the accounts payable function ensuring that all the organizations’ vendors are paid in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure compliance with all contractual payment policy terms and conditions and implement credit control policies, practices.
- Manage the accounts receivables function and ensure the effective monitoring of all cash inflow.
- Provide an efficient and readily accessible recording system of all accounting data and statistics to meet commercial and statutory requirements.
- Provide accurate financial information to management for financial reporting and budgeting purposes on a regular basis.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new accounting systems and procedures to meet the changing requirements and the anticipated future needs of the business.
- Maintain and control all departmental data to meet the requirements of internal and external auditors.
- Manage the cash position of the organization to ensure sufficient funds are available in case of contingencies.
- Direct maintenance of fixed asset records, related depreciation accounts, and provide interpretive assistance as to the proper capitalization/expensing of outlays and grouping of fixed assets to ensure consistency in accounting year over year.
- Oversee the development and implementation of cost accounting policies, systems, and controls to ensure that costs are properly allocated and accounted for.
- Assist in the formulation and implementation of overall business strategies to support the achievement of corporate goals.
- Direct, motivate and develop reporting staff ensuring that performance is managed, customer service values are emphasized and that activities are carried out adequately.
- Develop & maintain an external network of professional and technical contacts to keep well informed about developments in accounting practices.
- Nominate subordinates for trainings/workshops as and when required to perform effectively on job.

Requirements


Requirements


- Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent.
- Fluent in Arabic and English.
- Around 10 years of relevant work experience, 5 of which should be at a senior level.
- Knowledge of ERP (ORACLE) - preferred
