Accounts Payable Specialist

Job description / Role

Our client a leading multinational freight forwarding and logistics company with offices throughout the world are looking to increase there finance team in Qatar with the recruitment of a Accounts Payable Specialist.

Reporting to the Financial Controller duties for this role to include.
- Responsible for recording all invoices with appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Reconcile vendor statements ( local & Intercompany) and correct discrepancies
- Prepares batch check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions
- Responsible for Bank & Credit card reconciliations.
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
- Running, monitoring and analysing KPI's and reports as and when required (e.g. support with AP information for working capital calculations, run annual supplier statistics etc.)
- Reduce overdue AP: Manage and improve the amount overdue within the business, for example with weekly overdue report, send it to network partners and chase for invoice processing, respond to questions from partners.
- Increase outstanding Accounts Payable amount by working on extended payment terms with suppliers.
- Assist in month end closing and Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department.

Requirements

- Accountancy degree.
- 2 - 3 years experience, preferably from freight forwarding industry
- Strong Integrity And Ethical Standards
- Excellent Analytical, communication and Interpersonal skills
- MS-Excel Proficiency
