The RoleThe RoleMain Purpose: •To undertake adaptation of AT-3, EFPS & COIN systems. •To advise on future technological and resourcing needs for adaptation. •To advise ATC operations of any risks related to the introduction of changes to the AT-3,EFPS & COIN systems. •To participate in the process for adaptation change control •To participate in the DANS Adaptation Change Configuration Board for all ATC systems Duties and Responsibilities: •Shared responsibility for ensuring the AT-3 adaptation is kept in line with AIRAC cycle updates •Shared responsibility for ensuring the EFPS adaptation is kept in line with AIRAC cycle updates •Shared responsibility for ensuring the COIN adaptation is kept in line with AIRAC cycle updates •Shared responsibility for ensuring AT-3, EFPS and COIN adaptation is managed in accordance with its safety critical nature •Responsible for taking the appropriate steps to safeguard the continuity of AT-3, EFPS and COIN service. •Responsible for delivery of adaptation change requests to the AT-3, EFPS and COIN systems within prescribed timescales •Responsible for tracking all changes made to the AT-3, EFPS and COIN adaptation and ensuring the required impact analysis is done on the changes and all relevant stake holders are advised. •Responsible for managing a system of feedback from operators to ensure accurate and operator friendly display management and global sectorisation. •Responsible for assisting operations with active / passive playback on the AT-3 system when required. |
RequirementsRequirementsKnowledge Essential: •Comprehensive knowledge of adaptation practices & procedures for ATS Systems •Good overall understanding of Air Traffic Management, including emerging technologies and concepts •Comprehensive knowledge of Airport / Airspace configuration, design and procedures Preferred: •Minimum of 3 years of adaptation experience •Comprehensive knowledge of human factors issues relating to HMI •Knowledge of the DIMS to level 1 (this is not required for external applicants) Desirable: •Comprehensive knowledge of local, GCAA and ICAO instructions Skills. •Ability to complete tasks within a set timescale to an agreed standard •Ability to work in a multicultural environment •Ability to self-manage including the planning and prioritisation of workload •Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines •Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels in the DANS organisation. •Good organizational skills. •The ability to evaluate ATC systems / platforms and produce associated reports. •Effective listening skills. Experience •A minimum of three years’ experience undertaking adaptation on advanced ATC systems. •A holder of either an ICAO approved Aerodrome or Approach Radar course and validation of either rating. |
