The RoleThe RoleThe Borouge Innovation Centre's vision is to become the leader of innovative plastics solutions in the Middle East and Asia. Located in Abu Dhabi city with state-of-the-art equipment, the Innovation Centre will initially focus on development of pipe, film and moulding applications. Reporting to the Product Development Manager, you will be part of the Innovation Centre team and you will be responsible for: * Taking a leading role as Raw Materials Owner with full responsibility for the development and maintenance of raw materials specifications (RMS, ERMS) for all additives used in Borouge PE and PP products. * Establishing a documented system for filing and archiving raw materials specifications, supplier's technical literature and other related documents * Becoming a key member in the product development project teams with responsibility for evaluating and recommending state of art and cost effective additivation solutions * Leading additivation optimization programs for existing Borouge products through continuously reviewing product quality and performance. * Driving the process of evaluation and approval of new raw materials as well as performing technical and quality audits for new suppliers. * Providing Borouge ADP / Pte technical community with necessary expertise related to all additives and fillers used in the Polyolefin industry as well as regulatory documentation related to new and existing products. * Advising on Technical claim investigations, including reporting and conclusions on customer complaints related to additive quality and performance. * Leading technical external projects and studies supporting R&D, Innovation Projects and Application research * Participating in the definition of the scientific content of the projects and to their IPR protection. |
RequirementsRequirementsAs a successful candidate you will have: * MS or preferably PhD in Polymer Science or Material Science or related discipline * Minimum 10 years experience in PO material R&D * Excellent polymer structure - property - application relation knowledge for PE and PP * Excellent knowledge of polymer technologies, catalysts, and additives * Good knowledge of plastic markets and applications * Good knowledge of plastics processing, testing and analytical techniques. * Project management capability and knowledge * Experience in relationship / scientific network building * Good knowledge of IPR patenting process and patent writing * Planning, prioritization ,communication (oral & written), presentation, accuracy, coaching, and feedback * Excellent communication in English (reading, writing, speaking) * Good IT skills * Basic commercial understanding and interest in business value |
