Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Analyst - Release of Information is responsible for supporting the Healthcare Information Management (HIM) division by managing all requests for release of patient information. The individual is responsible for analyzing requests for information, preparing release of information applications forms, preparing duplicate medical records / medical reports in response to patient requests and obtaining the necessary consent from the patient in accordance with rules and regulations of the facility.

- Manages all aspects of release of information
- Analyzes and validates each incoming release of information request requirements and verifies proper authorization
- Assists walk-in requestors in filling out authorization for release of confidential medical information
- Utilizes the EMR to enter external ROI requestor as per hospital guidelines
- Calculates invoices and determines whether payment is required, determines disposition of medical records
- Communicates with requestor regarding possible charges
- Analyzes requests and applies established guidelines and policies governing the release of patient information
- Contacts patients or their relatives in order to provide, obtain, and clarify information pertaining to requested medical reports, and directing to the relevant specialty clinic as requested
- Liaises with other medical staff to ensure data and information is correct
- Responds to verbal and written inquiries in a timely manner
- Provides technical expertise in identifying potential issues pertaining to medical records
- Maintains the confidentially of all medical records
- Adheres to Sidras standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies

In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra during this pre-operational phase, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
- 3+ years of experience in information management
- Good communication skills
- Good planning skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Fluency in written and spoken English
