Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

JOB PURPOSE:
Independently carry out day-to-day investigation of cases generated by the transaction monitoring system.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
AML & Due-Diligence:
- Review disposed suspicious cases generated by the MANTAS systems and review raised cases from the business to the Transaction Surveillance Unit.
- Reporting of money-laundering cases & suspicious cases submission to the line manager ahd head of department.
- Ensure KYC & EDD mandates are consistently completed to a high standard.
- Take steps to ensure information is provided in a timely manner.

Internal & External Customer Satisfaction:
- Establish and maintain strong professional relationships/connections internally and externally.
- Ensure adherence to deadlines and reporting.
- Undertakes similar or related tasks or duties.
- Works to established time frames and action frameworks to ensure that all reporting processes are carried out in the established sequence and in the required timeframes.

Safeguarding the bank from potential losses and risks that relate to AML:
- Responsible for ensuring the proper management of internal STRs and the reporting where necessary of external STRs to the Central Bank.
- Build team awareness of the units objective and the banks requirements towards central bank.

Requirements

* A university degree.
* 1-3 years experience in a banking environment with exposure to banking transactions and exposure to regulatory AML requirements.
* Varied experience in branch banking, retail and corporate banking, operations etc.
* Knowledge of the country's central bank regulations & money laundering legislations.
* Familiar with banking rules/regulations of the country.
