Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

•Development and execution of a pro-active anti-fraud strategy within the bank as per banking law and regulations of CBO, for effective prevention, initial investigation of suspected internal & external frauds across the Bank and perform as an advisory & consultative officer that include evaluation & assessment of fraud risk and recommend for mitigation.
•Ensuring effective down the line communication of the anti fraud policy and anti fraud program of the bank
•Review all policies, procedures, job structures, and authorization levels with fraud risk perspective and take up the gaps with concerned business/operational units for closure.
•Proactively monitor and review any activities, transactions and data suspected for possible fraud by utilizing appropriate analytical techniques.
•Establish clear communication flow on actual or attempts of fraud and suspicions threats from Branch/business/ operational units on individual incidents/significant attempts to the management, CBO, ROP and provide recommendations for loss mitigation as needed.
•Ensure periodic monitoring on all the frauds and report to the management, RMC and Board of Directors and CBO as per regulatory Requirements
•Maintain confidentiality and discretion in carrying out all the duties and keep detailed records of all the suspicious activity.
•Identify frauds requiring investigation by Internal Audit. Co-ordinate with internal auditors for extended investigation of fraud incidents.
•Identify business areas requiring increased security controls to protect bank’s rights from future fraudulent incidents and assist in developing and implementing of controls to prevent fraud.
•Identify and recommend policy, procedure and system change to enhance investigation outcomes and performance.
•Encourage and participate in and provide training to other staff of the Anti Fraud Unit.

Requirements

•Oman National Preferred
•Should be a University Graduate preferably in Banking & law or equivalent qualifications may be considered with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a financial Institution of which at least 3 years in a supervisory position.
•Should possess knowledge of fraud prevention/detection techniques, and/or On-line Fraud Management.
•Excellent PC and Technical Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
•Should have good understanding of local and international market practices
•Ability to plan and schedule work.
•Should possess good leadership and decision making skills.
•Should possess good problem solving skills by adopting an analytical and systematical approach.
•Should possess good level of communication skills (written and verbal) in Arabic and English language.
•Should be self motivated and dynamic person.
