Application Developer

Job description / Role

Application Developer - Cognos BI Application.

Design, develop, and customise programs and applications to suit corporate requirements. Liaise with Team leader and operating teams to set and follow guidelines when designing and implementing a solution. Assist and Troubleshoot problems if necessary to ensure smooth flow of daily activities.

Cognos BI Application
- Configure and Administer Cognos BI & Framework Manager System and application
- Develop and build-up models
- Implement change management and release management

Applications Support
- Provide end users with the necessary support
- Escalate unresolved cases to second level of support
- Book new requests with external application support if advised from 2nd level of support
- Follow up with external support till a solution is provided and implemented

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related degree
- Business intelligence, corporate performance measurements suite (Cognos), reporting solutions (data warehousing & Reporting studios of Cognos)
- Require excellent skills in databases, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications
- Computer language knowledge especially in SQL - Knowledge in C++, C#, JAVA or HTML is a plus

Preferred Experience:
- 1 to 2 years experience in application developments
