The Role


Experience in software Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Implementation and Support

Position Responsibilities and Duties

• Analyze business requirements and product specifications for software application development projects
• Design, develop, test, and implement custom applications as well as off the shelf software packages
• Support / maintain existing applications using RPG, RPGILE, and CL, SQL, MS/Access, web tools etc.
• Have knowledge and perform DBA duties as required
• Up to date knowledge of current technologies to be able to make appropriate recommendations
• Author technical and end-user guide documentation for applications as needed
• Work in a distributed, team-oriented development environment
• Interact with end users and project managers to communicate status and resolve issues
• Ability to complete assignments and meet deadlines
• Must be resourceful and have the ability to solve problems
• Must be a team player, self-motivated and proactive.
• Willingness to assume additional responsibilities and learn new technologies
• Comply with company Ethics, Safety Procedures and any other company policies as required
• Become proficient with existing applications, files, standards, naming conventions, programs, related objects and configuration management tools
• Assist with On-Call support during non-business hours (could include weekends)
• Fulfill duties with little or no supervision

Required Skills

• Database development, good understanding of database connectivity and integration
• Database Administration
• Strong written and verbal English Language communication skills.
• MS Access database management, development and proficiency in VBA scripts
• Knowledge of basic SQL400 programming
• Ability to manage operational support ticket queues Assist with on-site hands on support to address enterprise and project application issues. Could result in after business hours including weekends.
• Strong knowledge of CL, RPG, RPGILE Languages
• Strong knowledge of Subfile programming
• Generate ad-hoc reports using SQL or Query400 or other compatible tools
• Working knowledge of SharePoint 2010

Skills that are a Plus

• Good technical understanding of Web Application Development
• ASNA Visual RPG.Net
• Proficiency in utilizing multiple programming languages
• Experience with large ERP Systems

Experience & Qualifications

4-year degree in Computer Science (or related curriculum) and at least 5-10 years of progressive experience in systems analysis and programming utilizing required skill-sets as detailed in this form (or an equivalent combination of work experience and education).
