Application Engineer - Diesel Generators - FAMCO - Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

The Application / Project Engineer reporting directly to the Divisional Manager, in the day to day activities will assist the Sales Team to identify opportunities and provide engineered solutions to meet customer requirements or tenders. There will be a responsibility to build a close relationship with the Regional Power Products Manager (RPPM) is to conduct competitive product / pricing analysis and market research evaluating sales performance, and formulating and reviewing strategic long rang plans, goals, and objective for specific product areas,.country activities and brand requirements.

Advisor to the sales team in providing technical support for the product, its application and installation. Responsibilities also include handling special price requests to the RPPM and other queries related to delivery status, technical details, warranty etc. for sales team. Dealing and obtaining quotations from local vendors for the relevant electro-mechanical accessories like tank, cable, electrical panel, etc.

Responsible for reviewing the special RFQs; technical specifications; engineering drawings; data sheets and project check lists. Coordinate with RPPM and local vendors for formal proposal within reasonable time scale. Plays a joint support role with the sales team in the tender process including engineering and sourcing of BOM and services as and when required.

Requirements

- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with good knowledge and working experience of power generating sets, applications and installation engineering and Power plant building requirements. The ability to modify any CAD drawings is a key requirement.
- 5 Years in application and project engineering.

Job-Specific Skills:
- Have excellent technical knowledge of electrical power generating systems and should know the selection criteria for generating set.
- Design knowledge of ventilation system, exhaust system, attenuation system, fuel system, attenuation system, switchgear system, protection system, external communication system etc. for building a generating set room/ power plant.
- Able to gather information of competitors, market research and comparative analysis.

Believes in, and demonstrates a full appreciation of, marketing principles to offer the best possible customer experience of the brands represented.
