Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Applications Support team provides first, second or third line technical support to resolve incidents and investigate problems related to number of IT applications used by the business.

Upstream IT&S has a highly skilled group of individuals working together in virtual teams to drive digital solutions for all of Upstream Business. The Application Support team is expected to provide support to number of applications (Subsurface, wells and other functions) which will are delivered as part of BP Oman Khazzan Business.

Role Purpose

The role also performs maintenance and housekeeping activities required to deliver applications services in line with agreed service levels, ensuring applications are available when required by the business. Other typical activities include change, configuration and access management as well as interface monitoring, application administration, performance monitoring and management. The role works closely with Operations Excellence, Global Operations & Infrastructure Teams and Applications Support Vendors as appropriate as appropriate in support of fault resolution, and when performing bug fixes, minor enhancements and other maintenance activities.

*Provide first and second line technical support to resolve application incidents

*Investigate problems related to number of IT applications used by the business

*Perform maintenance and housekeeping activities required to deliver applications services in line with agreed service levels

*Perform activities related to change, configuration and access management

*Assist in planning, design, development, testing, training and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.

*Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.

*Ensure compatibility and interoperability and integration between application systems.

*Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop plans for improving or further leveraging these systems.

*Perform technical analyses; prepare systems models, specifications, diagrams and charts for proposed systems to aid management in making decisions.

*Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new applications.

*Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.

*Prepare and keep live the project and application documentations

Requirements

*University degree in the field of computer science, information science, management information systems and minimum 4 years related work experience.

*Working knowledge of Oil & Gas upstream application such as Landmark Subsurface and Wells applications suites, Hydrocarbon Accounting systems, Operations and engineering applications, etc.


*Working technical knowledge of Oracle and MS-SQL Databases; Linux and Windows OS; .NET, PL/Sql programming languages.

*ITIL Foundation Certificate (V2 or V3)

*Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
