Job description / Role
Responsible for the online Arabic editorial, making sure that the Arabic website is as authentic as the English, keeping Arabic visitors to the site fully informed of what is going on in INTIGRAL, and helping in the development of the Arabic website in general.
In charge of the Arabic Monthly EPG schedules, consisting of translating the original English into Arabic in a fashion that makes it readily accessible to Arabic readers, a task which includes carrying out research on the internet on movies and other entertainment programmes.
Keeping the EPG database updated with listings for TV guide and schedules, as well as keeping regular checks on information and synopses prior tp going live.
Contributing to INTIGRAL TV guide as and when required.
Contribute to the subtitling tasks in times of need.
Organising and delegating certain tasks to team members/colleagues.
Manage certain translation projects and supervise execution and deadlines.
Qualifications
Technical/ Professional Skills Excellent knowledge of both Arabic and English languages.
A third language (French and/or Spanish) is a plus.
Creative writing skills.
Awareness of the cultural and religious sensitivities of the Middle East region.
Excellent Western and Middle-Eastern media and pop-culture background.
Open-minded.
Excellent research skills (references and internet).
Flexible with working hours.
Good organisational and managerial skills
Requirements
Academic Qualifications
A bachelor degree with relevant practical experience. (Preferably English literature).
Bilingual in written/spoken Arabic and English - (French and/or Spanish is a plus).
Years of Experience
Must have at least 2-3 years experience in translation - from both Arabic-English and English to Arabic
Ability and flexibility to translate different topics, such as finance, sports, media, literature...etc.
Experience in subtitling is an advantage
