On behalf of our client, a global leader in the area of finance, we are looking to recruit an Arabic Speaking Legal Counsel.
Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, you will be responsible for providing general legal support in the Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan region. You will counsel internal stakeholders on risks of business strategies, negotiation, drafting of agreements, business research and monitoring of local laws, supporting regulatory initiatives including tax matters, meeting with government regulators and providing general support with respect to corporate commercial matters.
Legal research will cover such matters as currency and foreign exchange controls, anti-money laundering detention and prevention, banking regulations, licensing and other regulatory and legal matters.
You will attend meetings with Financial Service Regulators to address licensing and other issues from time to time.

Requirements

The successful candidate must be a resident of the UAE, have a degree from an accredited university equivalent to a Juris Doctor Degree from a US school of law (preferably with honors).
Six years experience in a internationally active law firm or legal department of a multinational corporation ( preferably engaged in the provision and/or regulation of financial services) with an emphasis on contract review and drafting.
The ability to translate complex legal principles into business consequences that the client can understand therefore suberb drafting and communication skills in both Arabic and English is essential.
You must have experience dealing directly with mid to high-level internal and external clients with demonstrated client/management service skills.
