Job description / Role
Our Client, a renowned law firm based in Dubai is looking to appoint a legal secretary, The individual would be expected to assist the assigned lawyers in local corporate matters and a portion of which would require basic understanding of the UAE Company Law and the procedures associated with the company formations in the free zones as well as locally based entities. The position would also require the individual to become acquainted with and open clear lines of communication with various government departments which would include among many, the Department of Economic Development, the Land Department, the free various free zones, the Municipality and SCA. This will require the individual to be competent in written and spoken Arabic.
The position would also require the ability to fulfill day-to-day administrative roles in supporting the assigned lawyers and ensuring the timely execution of notices and meetings and following up with matters in an efficient manner. The ability and initiative to execute administrative tasks with clients will also be required.
As the role involves detailed legal advice being dispensed, the position will require the ability to learn and understand the laws being practiced and to become familiar with the basics of the Company Law. The individual will also be required to assist in client company formation work which would include the ability to communicate with the concerned parties to acquire the necessary information and documentation as instructed.
Requirements
Language skills – English/Arabic (spoken and written);
Basic knowledge of local company laws;
Basic knowledge of local authorities i.e. DED, DLD, DEWA, free zones etc;
Ability to quickly pick up and understand local procedures; and
Basic understanding of company formation work.
