The RoleThe RoleTo supervise construction and installation works for a major hotel and resort project comprising a 5 star hotel, conference centre, spa and retail area and exclusive villas. Reporting to the Senior Architect on site, the appointment will entail (but will not necessarily be limited to): • Inspection of construction works in progress to ensure compliance of materials and workmanship with design drawings and specifications and acceptable quality of architectural finishes. • Monitoring of materials deliveries and on-site storage to ensure compliance with specified requirements. • Monitoring of compliance with specified procedures and general good practice in relation to site safety. • Monitoring the contractor’s progress of work and reporting of daily site activities to the site engineers. • Reporting of non-conformances and site observations and general liaison with the site engineers in relation to the quality and progress of work. • Snagging and preparation of punch lists of items for corrective action following completion of construction in preparation for project handover. |
RequirementsRequirementsSuitable candidates will have at least a Technical Diploma in Architecture or similar and at least 7 years experience in inspection of construction and finishing works on major building construction projects, some of which will preferably have been gained in the Middle East. A thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction and installation methods and materials related to appropriate technical disciplines as well as appropriate sampling and testing requirements and procedures in accordance with international (U.S./British) codes and standards is essential. The ability to effectively communicate with other team members and the contractor’s site staff, as well as to prepare clear written reports in English language are also important aspects of the position. |
