Area Manager - Qatar

Qatar is booming and the retail sector is following suit. Our client, a leading retailer and wholesaler is currently experiencing rapid growth and is seeking an experienced Area Manager to manage the showroom on a day to day basis and staff operations of the showroom.

Your responsibilities in this role will include:
- Work closely with the operations manager to plan and implement store operations.
- Plan and schedule work shifts for the showroom staff.
- Monitor staff capabilities and suggest areas of training and performance improvement to the Operations Manager and HR Manager.
- Ensure all performance issues and any other operational issues within the shop are addressed in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Promote customer service within the retail operations and investigate complaints or instances of poor customer service in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist in performing store staff appraisals annually and recommend promotions, demotions and terminations to the Operations Manager and HR Manager.
- Drive sales by motivating staff to achieve the set targets in a consistent manner.
- Assess daily store operations and interact with other departments to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Coordinate with the warehouse to monitor, plan and control warehouse deliveries and make sure adequate staff is available on site.
- Performing random stock takes at the store to ensure minimum stock loss.
- Manage security personnel and respond to any security threats during the sale.
- Closely liaise with the mall and store management to ensure all mall requirements are followed and fulfilled.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to carry out new shop site evaluations and questionnaires.
- Ensure the safety and security of staff, stock, cash and property, implementing effective administration, procedures and security systems throughout the shops in accordance with company guidelines.

Requirements

- Minimum Bachelors Degree required.
- A minimum 8+ years of experience in retail in a similar role.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to lead groups and motivate performance through effective coaching skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to adapt quickly to change.
- Excellent presentation, spoken and written communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
