Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Establish budget, manpower plans and performance targets for each pharmacy under his / her supervision.
Actively contribute to the formulation and direction of the retail strategy by providing inputs on customer preferences & sales trends.
Supervise daily operations of pharmacies and ensure achievement of performance targets and KPIs (sales, operating expense, profit margins).
Implement best practices in stock management and control to ensure product availability, and mitigate any potential financial loss and/or risks due to stock loss.
Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies to coordinate compliance visits and inspections. Ensure strict adherence to quality and compliance standards in consultation with the Country Manager and Manager Quality and Compliance.
Develop a pharmacy visit schedule and visit pharmacies frequently to monitor customer service levels, obtain customer feedback, follow up on maintenance issues, hear and counsel pharmacists HR related issues.
Liaise with Commercial Manager - UAE, Group Marketing Manager and Property Manager UAE to identify, assess and execute business development opportunities.
Ensure best in class execution of any branding and product promotion initiatives undertaken by the Group Marketing Manager. Provide unbiased feedback on effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
Perform weekly reviews to analyse and report on performance of retail units against specific KPIs (sales, operating cost, profit margin, stock loss etc.). Identify underperforming stores and develop appropriate action plans to address inefficiencies and optimise performance.
Collaborate with Property Managers to identify and analyse profitability potential of new locations.
Implement standardised quality management, control and assurance processes across all pharmacies.
Implement customer feedback mechanism for each pharmacy to effectively manage complaints and to improve customer experience.
Manage the staff work allocation and lead, develop and train staff for superior performance.

Requirements

The Area Managers role is to drive higher sales through best in class service to customers. The role-holder monitors customer service levels at pharmacies under his/her supervision, obtain feedback from customers and pharmacists and ensures that appropriate actions are taken by relevant departments. The role holder maintains a high level of motivation amongst his team of pharmacists, measures their performance and ensures proper reward and recognition for their service.

Licensed Pharmacist.
Extensive knowledge of pharmacy and retail trade in the UAE and MENA region.
Minimum 5 years of experience in retail / pharmaceutical sales position at a managerial level.
