Area Planning Team Leader
British Petroleum (BP)
For one or more Operational Areas (physical operating locations), deliver an integrated Area schedule that fosters safe, reliable operations
You will also:
*Deliver fully integrated Area schedules aligned to Region priorities
*Work with all parties to ensure integrated schedule mitigates risk and delivers best value for the Area
*Provide primary interface between AP Systems & Tools team and the AP Area Scheduling team
*Recommend development of AP Area Scheduling personnel
*Own the scheduling process for the Area
*Ensure integration and deliverability of Long Term Plans and 8Q Schedule
*Integrate functional Business Plan Elements (BPEs) across all time frames
*Ensure that current Business Plan Elements for the Area are aligned with the Region strategy
*Ensure that the Area 8Q Schedule and activity set are derived from those BPEs
*Ensure that the Long Term Plan and 8Q activity set are deliverable within Area scheduling constraints
*Identify and drive resolution of cross-functional conflicts
*Provide leadership to AP Lead Area Schedulers in optimising and implementing schedule changes required by updates in the Region strategy and Long Term Plan
Own the Area scheduling processes
*Lead and coach the Lead Area Schedulers
*Ensure that all Area scheduling processes are consistent with the AP Upstream Practice
*Ensure the competence of the Lead Area Schedulers, Area Schedulers and Site Schedulers
*Drive standardisation and simplification of Area Scheduling process across the Region
Support Area decision-making
*Support the AOM in facilitating the AOM Table and running consistent and effective 8Q Area Scheduling meetings
*Support the Region Planning cycle and cadence
*Ensure that all major changes to the Area schedule are controlled through Plan Change Proposals (PCPs)
Lead on the use of Primavera for the Area
*Drive the implementation of standard Primavera processes across all areas in a region
*Approve all changes to Primavera that impact Area scheduling
*Support Systems & Tools team in development of area-focussed systems, tools, and training
Drive Area scheduling performance
*Review AP KPI performance with area leaders and others
*Drive continuous improvement in area scheduling performance
Degree or an Approved Certificate in engineering, operations management, business or finance required.
Experience in Oil and Gas operations with certifications in asset operations will be an advantage.
*10 years experience in Oil and Gas Industry
*Understanding and experience with planning and scheduling of operations, maintenance, or projects.
*Understanding and experience in schedule integration across multiple groups and time horizons.
*Demonstrated ability to integrate strategic business plans and tactical work-plans.
*Understanding of planning toolsets.
*Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
*Strong organization, negotiation and influencing skills.
*Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels and build sustainable relationships.
*Experience in leading or coordinating teams.
*Personal understanding and commitment to HSSE.
*Leadership and strong communication skills demonstrated in past employment.
*Bias for action; performs activity before being asked or forced by events.
*Anticipates future situations and plans ahead to meet challenges.
*Demonstrated success in working within a high performance team.
