Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Monitoring and adjusting the long-term chemistry of HRSGs using All Volatile Treatment or OEM requirements and best utility practice, , fuel chemistry (particularly for operations on liquid back-up fuel), cooling water dosing, and ensuring compliance of the station with local emissions / effluents obligations.
- Implementation of routine activities and maintenance of chemistry related equipment through the use of CMMS.
- Perform the required laboratory analysis for the correct control of all the relevant chemistry related parameters
- Monitor status of all chemical dosing equipment and troubleshoot when any problem occurs as well as perform minor adjustments correction as it may be required.
- Monitor analysers accuracy and laboratory equipment to guarantee optimum and accurate results
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment as directed by his superior.
- Develop or help developing the required analysis or chemistry procedures as required by the department.
- Successful preparations and completion of planned shutdowns
- Implementation of plant-chemistry best practices in accordance with OEM and international standards
- Support the development and implementation of a Long Term engineering strategic plan
- Life cycle management and care of all HRSGs and chemistry related equipment

Requirements

- An accredited degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
- Demonstrated competence at engineering level with adequate education and training supported.
- Experience of preparing reports to environmental monitoring authorities, and ensuring compliance with quality and legal obligations, station emissions, and station effluents.
- Multiple years of experience of power station chemistry at the level of shift chemist or equivalent.
- Experience preferred in AVT HRSG dosing regimens.
- Some commercial awareness and PPA knowledge would be an advantage.
- Experience in the Middle East would be an advantage.
