Responsible to implement the project quality plan and quality procedures and productivity related to the management and coordination of all substation and cables electrical works: technical review, approvals, procurement, delivery, inspection, installation, testing and commissioning of different electrical primary and secondary transmission substations and power cables equipment such as, but not limited to: Power Transformers, HV GIS, MV Metal-Clad Switchgears, Power and Control Cables, Auxiliary AC/DC Supply, Telecommunication, Protection, Control, and SCADA Panels, small power, lighting, and different building services power supply, in accordance with program of work on construction site. Assists in defining the process for execution of construction activities related to all aforementioned types of electrical systems; and to identify the need for specialty assistance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs complex construction tasks and particularly important construction work efficiently and accurately.
- Oversees the adherence to contract drawings, specifications, and other materials in procurement and construction activities. Regularly interfaces with other construction disciplines as well as other departments.
- Reviews design submittals and other engineering materials prepared by the contractor/ subcontractors; ensures the quality and integrity prior to submission for the design review consultant, and provides comments on the results of the reviews.
- Prepares and issues technical reports, progress reports, and other construction reporting documents.
- Provides technical guidance to site supervision engineers, CAD drafters, and other site engineers working on the same project.
- Manages and coordinates the activities of all electrical construction staff; and coordinates with the Construction Manager.
- Serves as primary interface with the Client, government authority, site supervision staff and construction contractor in performing technical reviews/inspections or addressing construction-related issues related to the electrical systems
- Understands all related interfaces and their requirements in the project; and oversees/manages the interface with other packages, local agencies, and site supervision teams to maintain contract schedule and proper contract scope implementation.
- Act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on construction related matters.
- Maintains awareness of the project electrical works requirements, design deliverables and specifications.
- Provides regular reports on progress to the Construction Manager; and needs for additional or specialty staffing.

Requirements

- Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University.
- Minimum 12 - 15 years of related experience.
- Knowledge and experience in construction of large scale transmission substations and electrical transmission HV cable systems.
- Experience in testing and commissioning of different electrical primary and secondary transmission substations and power cables equipment such as power transformers, HV GIS, MV metal-clad switchgears, power and control cables, auxiliary AC/DC supply, telecommunication, protection, control and SCADA panels.
- Knowledge in Qatar Local Authorities.
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of electrical international standards, KM standards and local regulations and codes.
- Experience in design review, construction supervision and testing and commissioning activities.
- GCC experience is preferred.
