Assistant Events Manager - Professional Services - Dubai

Our client, an innovative and leading professional services firm, is looking to expand the Marketing, Communications and Brand team to support the ambitious growth plans of the business.

They are looking for an Assistant Manager level candidate to join the team and provide professional event management advice, planning and support for the firma client events (both ad hoc and regular programmes) and large scale Board level internal events as well as the firms corporate hospitality programmes.

Based from Dubai, the jobholder will plan and deliver a range of events, including client facing marketing conferences, seminars, breakfast meetings, dinners and hospitality events that support the Firm's growth objectives.

The role includes liaison with both internal and external clients to ensure that events are appropriate, support business objectives and in line with requirements of marketing leadership. From time to time you may also be required to support other team members.

Requirements

Essential skills:
* Proven events management experience with overall experience for running both large and medium scale events.
* The ability to plan, manage and prioritise conflicting deadlines and to deal effectively with changing requirements.
* Excellent influencing and negotiating skills to be able to challenge internal clients on best practice.
* Demonstrate the ability to build relationships with clients and suppliers.
* Show a passion for client service.
* Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills will be required in order to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships with key clients.
* Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and handle several tasks at once within given deadlines.
* Diplomacy, pragmatism and political sensitivity are required in order to manage expectations, and deal effectively with the challenges of supporting a mixed business practice.
* Solid numeracy skills and the ability to manage budgets, identify savings and provide value for money.
* Computer literacy and a good command of word, excel, powerpoint.
* Proactive with a positive 'can do' approach.
* Self starter able to work effectively as part of a team.
