Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Ensure overall sound legal risk exposures across the Bank, including review/scrutiny/comment on all agreements or contracts referred.
- Provide legal opinions and respond to inquiries both verbally and in writing on issues affecting labour law, banking transactions, IT contracts etc.
- Drafting and/or reviewing all types of agreements and contracts where the Bank is a party.
- Drafting and revising the Banks regulations of legal nature relating to credit, operations and personnel.
- Negotiate with the counterparties and co-ordinate the execution of necessary documentation to protect the interests of the Bank.
- Liaise with lawyers representing the Bank in the Courts, following up execution of judgments, and recoveries.
- Periodically review the Banks legal documentation and forms to ensure compliance with legal requirements and maximum protection for the Banks assets at all times.
- Drafting in Arabic or English, legal notices and warnings or contract related letters of a legal nature, to ensure the Banks interests are protected.
- Undertake legal translations of Arabic and English texts.
- Any other responsibilities assigned from time to time.

Requirements

- Bachelor degree in law.
- At least 5 years post qualification experience, with sound exposure to English Law.
- At least 2 years experience in a financial institution.
- Exposure to legal aspects of documentation relating to syndications, account operation, credit facilities, etc.
- Sound interpersonal skills, and a good team player.
- Fluent in spoken and written Arabic and English.
- Nationality: Preferably Bahraini.
