The Role


Objective:

1.Prepare payments for GSC Egypt
2.Prepare journal entries and data entry into accounting systems
3.Bank and cash flow monitoring & petty cash management
4.Fixed Asset management & monitoring
5.Assist in preparation of month-end reporting schedules and reconciliations

Job Description and Responsibilities:

•Cash flow management and monitoring
•Payments made are duly authorized with supporting documents attached in line with HSBC Group, GR and GSC Egypt policies & procedures.
•Timely and accurate reporting and reconciliation of bank accounts to ensure there are no unauthorized payments out from the bank accounts.
•Maintenance and monitoring of fixed assets
•Ensure timely payments for GSC Egypt
•Ensure proper payments controls & procedures are adhered to
•Liaison to address issues with respective expats (for expat related expenses) and other support departments for all Payables / Fixed Assets matters.
•Support monthly closing and coordinate with Reporting team to ensure necessary journals are made on provisions / accruals of expenses
•Ensure proper payments controls & procedures are adhered to and in line with HSBC Group policies and procedures
•Maintenance of Expat BIK / Entitlement tracking schedule to ensure no overpayment and expenses paid are in line with HSBC Group policies & GR HR policies.
•Ensure fixed assets are capitalized and recorded and the fixed assets have proper insurance coverage, in line with HSBC Group, GR and HGRL policies.
•Maintenance of bank signatories records & security devices in line with HSBC Group & GSC Egypt policies and procedures.

Management of Risk (GHR / FIM requirements)

To abide by the Group Compliance Policy by containing compliance risk in conjunction with the relevant Compliance Department. The term compliance embraces all relevant laws, rules and codes with which the business has to apply.
To continually re-assess the operational risks inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures, management restructures, and the impact of new technology in conjunction with the donor Group companies.

Major Challenges

•Entity is a new set up and the processes, systems and policies need to be established and refined overtime from a finance operations perspective.
•Constant communication and education to requestor of payments on proper documentation and authorisation in line with existing controls & procedures with proper audit trail.
•Assist in continuous enhancement of payments and tracking processes and policies to improve efficiencies and controls
•Management of outsourced FTE in HDPI – GFO / SMO

•GSMs and Functional Instruction Manuals – Finance
•Accounting Standards & IFRS
•Procedures and instructions issued by GHQ FIN
•Local /International laws and regulations
•Standard operating procedures and policies of GSC Egypt
•Egypt Tax and UK VAT practices
•AVP Finance and Financial Controller of GSC Egypt

Role Dimensions

•Annual PL expenses of >USD 6 million - USD 20 million (5 years forecast)
•Bank & OD balances of >USD 2 million (5 years forecast)

Requirements


Requirements


• Degree or Professional Accountant with >3 years total experience in Finance Operations and Reporting from a reputed company and/or audit/consulting environment
• Commendable analytical skills
• Reasonable financial modeling skills
• Adequate knowledge of Accounting Standards and accounting principles
• Team work, strong communications and presentation skills
• Knowledge in systems, processes and policies/procedures is an added advantage
