Assistant Manager - Legal

Job description / Role

- Review customer contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements and support ELCOMEs business strategy.
- Develop end-to-end contract life-cycle process; from contract proposal and negotiation to contract compliance.
- Analyzes contract general terms and conditions to highlight areas of risk such as ambiguities, conflicts or deviations from the scope of work. Make recommendations to the concerned Department Manager on the mitigation of these risks.
- Primary representative for coordinating and authoring all responses for customer Request For Proposals (RFPs)
- Communicate identified gaps showing misalignment between terms and conditions and needs of the business.
- Communicate company policies regarding contracts-related issues, such as revenue recognition and acceptable liability limits.
- Draft contract amendments and alternative clauses where necessary.
- Review and negotiate vendor contracts in collaboration with the Procurement Department.
- Ensure communication among various departments in the context of sales negotiations and RFP responses.
- Responsible for adherence to contract insurance provisions and to ensure implementation of any requirements in this regard.
- Maintain an audit file for each contract which will include original contract, all correspondence, changes/deviations, amendments, clarifications, payment schedules.
- Prepare and disseminate information to appropriate employees regarding contract status, facilitate contractor meetings.
- Ensure that contractor is in compliance with legal requirements, owner specifications and government regulations.
- Ad hoc contract-related projects.
- Negotiate customer contracts in collaboration with sales teams.
- Update and maintain contract database.

Requirements

- Should be a law graduate with 4-5 years of working experience in the similar role in UAE within a corporate atmosphere.
- Capable to read contracts quickly and determine salient points
- In possession of strong technical understanding of commercial contracts
- Must be able to write clearly and concisely
- Good communication & negotiation skill
- Expert in working in MS office
- Energetic, ambitious & able to think on their feet
- Comfortable working under pressure.
- Holding a valid UAE driving license
