Reporting to: Head - Market Risk
Key Objectives:
To effectively identify, measure, monitor and manage Treasury & Investments risk including Liquidity & Interest rate risks
He will be responsible for measuring, analyzing, reporting and escalation of treasury risks. He must be able to link market risk issues with liquidity, credit & operational risk and provide inputs at the highest levels of the organization with clarity and confidence.
The candidate should have a background in Treasury environment and good knowledge of the treasury products including FX, MM, commodities, Swaps and derivatives. The right candidate should have a strong understanding of modelling, scenario analysis and quantification techniques to direct and validate market risk.
He would be responsible for liquidity risk measurement and reporting liquidity gap, re-pricing gap and simulation reports. Also should have decent knowledge on Basel guidelines.
Requirements
- MBA (Finance) from a top rung Management School or a Chartered Accountant with a strong background in market risk. Qualification of Financial Risk Manager (FRM) or professional qualifications in treasury management would be an added advantage.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Treasury Department of a reputed Bank.
- Track record in risk minimisation using risk measurement tools, proactively showing the value of risk analysis, duration analysis and risk management to the banks ultimate profitability.
- A good Team Member with strong communication/ presentation skills with modelling/ analytical skills in MS excel.
- Strong grasp of all risk implications and ability to integrate risks to aid decision making.
- Commercial analysis skills, big picture-thinking.
- Clear understanding of latest market risk modelling and risk quantification techniques.
- Overall sense of business acumen - the balance of risk and reward.
- Monitor/evaluator mentality - flair for weighing-up each opportunity for risk and profitability.
- Empowered, a self-starter, with initiative; determined, proactive and persistent.
- Highly motivated, energetic and driven to make things happen.
- Able to think strategically, act across functional, business unit and geographic boundaries.
- Hands-on experience in using Reuters, Bloomberg, Murex treasury systems.
