Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Use yield management processes to plan & oversee the pricing including OOG & Breakbulk to be targeted by the trade, set pricing levels in accordance with this plan, and review the outcome of these plans. Participate in business development activities together with Cluster & local offices

Job Responsibilities:
- Develop & implement business plan for respective Trade Lanes in close coordination with local field offices
- Use of yield management tools and processes provided by the Yield Management Unit to optimize the P&L of the trade (round trip)by managing cargo mix and allocations
- In conjunction with the Senior Trade Manager, determine the pricing policy for the trade, including OOG & Project Cargo, determining pricing levels, responses to tariff requested by the client and delegation of pricing authorities (discretionary levels and levels requiring Senior Trade Manager approval).
- Monitor yield management performance of the OOG & Project Cargo against the plan, analyze deviation and raise issues for actions by the cluster.
- Set capacity allocation between ports within the trade and monitor actual utilization (e.g. utilization report).
- Analyse and respond in accordance with agreed policies to client-specific pricing requests of the OOG & project Cargo submitted by local agencies, and submit the requests above agreed authority levels to Senior Trade Manager for approval.
- Approve local charge levels proposed by Cluster Sales managers.
- Business development activities (together with Cluster & local offices)
- Market research & competition analysis
- Liaison/coordination with Cluster Operations/Ship planner loading process

Requirements

- University degree (management or financial studies is an advantage)
- At least 5 years experience in pricing or similar role in shipping or logistics
- Experience managing teams will be an added advantage

Job-Specific Skills:
- Strong knowledge of yield management
- Strong knowledge of specific OOG / BB markets
- Sales and BB/OOG operations experience as plus
